Basically. No more barriers between bodies or minds or egos. It's all... mixed together.

[Ergh, no one should be able to look at his mind. No one deserves that. And the thought of not being his own separate individual, it's.... it's really weird. He's spent most of his life with people being unable to physically get near him, so even a normal level of intimacy with other people is mostly beyond him. Going one step further sounds horrific.

[ She sounds a little flat. ]

[Understandable. Who wants to go back to an empty world where everyone is tang one gross collective consciousness that you want no part in? He certainly wouldn't.]

She said she'd find a spot for me if I didn't want to go back.

[Still not great, since she could end up who-knows-where, but anywhere has to be better than a dead world.]

[ She shoves her hands into her pockets. ]

Doesn't matter anyway. I'm glad they're all fucking gone.

[ It's venomous and hateful and full of anger - and maybe genuine but maybe it's the only way she knows how to cope with it. If she aggressively doesn't care, if she's happy about it, then she doesn't have to think about it all really means. ]

[He's quiet, not sure if she really means that. After all, he knows that it's a hell of a lot easier to respond with anger. Reject the world if it's going to reject you. That kind of thing.

After a moment he turns, switching his choker on again. He's getting some different vectors compared to the farm - EM fields and whatnot - so this might be a place whose interior is worth checking out sometime.

[ Asuka is quiet and then she simply follows, a little morose and more closed off than she was a little while ago, her shoulders tight again.

[It's a thoroughly depressing topic. Thankfully, Accelerator is used to thoroughly depressing topics. They tend to make the gears in his brain turn, and that's what's happening right now.]

Yup. The companion bots were busy while we were gone. [He gives a little wave at a wind turbine they're passing by.] Those things are from home. I'd be fucking creeped out if they brought in any actual buildings, I don't know how people are okay with this.

[ She shrugs. ]

Whatever. None of this is mine to think about anyway. If people really want it, let them have it.

[As long as Aurora keeps Academy City structures to the wind turbines, which are fairly benign, it shouldn't be a big deal.

He just doesn't want to see his old dorm. Or worse, Yomikawa's apartment.]

It might mean more people moving out of the standard apartments, which would be fucking nice.

[ She sighs and clasps her hands behind her head. ]

I don't really get some of the people here, but... whatever. They're all gonna be falling over themselves to try and get the prize, I guess.

I can't see getting comfortable around here will help in saving their universes. But then, who the fuck knows, maybe asking for shit makes Echo happy and more inclined to put their universe higher on the 'save' list.

Maybe it does. It's like participation points or whatever and if you play along, she puts you higher on the ranking chart! Who the Hell knows...

As they walk they're entering a more forested area.]

Whatever. Now that the labyrinth is done I'm sure Echo will have some other fucking test for us soon.

[ Asuka glances up at the branches overhead as they go, gaze distant. ]

Probably. This whole place feels like we're under a microscope sometimes... wouldn't be surprised if we were.

If that's the case then it wouldn't be any different than back home.

[It won't be too long before they're coming upon some yurt-y space-ish kind of buildings. Accelerator pauses, still a bit away from them, and switches his choker again. He frowns a little, but shrugs.]

Nothing ever changes.

[ She scoffs and then trails off into silence. She gives him a look. ]

What's with that expression?

The architecture's unusual. Like all of this is supposed to be hidden.

[It's weird, and he doesn't really want to investigate further, so he turns away.]

[ She says like she didn't volunteer to come along. ]

[He knows this isn't exactly exciting.]

It's the necessary kind of boring. [He'd put it on the same level as boring bureaucratic paperwork he has to do now that he's running a city.] I'd rather be taking a nap.
